Lower K-groups and algebraic cycles
The usual propaganda for K_0 is that they encode algebraic cycles on smooth quasiprojective schemes. I will peddle this further to possibly singular, possibly nonreduced schemes which, in effect, pushes information down to the negative K-groups. In particular, I will refine Kerz-Strunk-Tamme vanishing (Weibel's conjecture). I hope to explain all of the constituent ingredients to nonexperts and talk through examples. This is joint work with Matthew Morrow.
