Algebra Seminar

Using methods of algebraic geometry applied to intersections of hypersurfaces which are invariant under the action of a reflection group, Springer and I have shown how to construct subquotients of such groups which are themselves reflection groups. The study of the invariants, coexponents and other properties of these subquotients raises interesting geometric questions which will be the subject of this talk.

Please note that the seminar will meet at the University of NSW for this talk; the reason for this is that Jean Michel will speak in the joint Sydney-UNSW colloquium at UNSW from 2-3pm.
