The vector product of the standard basis vectors

Using the definition of the vector product it follows that

  1. i × i = j × j = k × k = 0
  2. i × j = -(j × i) = k;
  3. i × k = -(k × i) = -j;
  4. j × k = -(k × j) = i;

Recall that, by convention, the triple i, j, k is always right-handed, so i, k, j is left handed and j, k, i is right handed.
