Higher-level skills in all branches of mathematics and statistics are essential for Australia to remain a force in technological innovation. However, few if any Australian universities can deliver advanced education in all necessary branches of mathematics.
The nGAME (national Grid for Advanced Mathematics Education) project proposed to establish a new framework to enable universities throughout Australia to pool expertise in mathematics education, thus providing a comprehensive teaching capacity for talented students with a career interest in mathematics. The project will target third and final (honours) years of bachelor's degree programmes.
