Jeremie Guilhot (Institut Denis Poisson, Universite de Tours) is speaking in the Algebra Seminar this week. We will go out for lunch after the talk. When: Friday, 13 October, 12-1pm Where: Carslaw 173 Title: Recognizing Kazhdan-Lusztig cells using representations Abstract: The aim of this talk is to show on various examples that one can recognize Kazhdan-Lusztig cells using representations of Hecke algebras. This idea is especially interesting in the case of affine Weyl groups where one can use representations that have a very nice combinatorial descriptions in terms of alcove paths. (This is part of an ongoing project with Nathan Chapelier, Eloise Little and James Parkinson)
