I am starting an occasional seminar on "Infinite Groups", to discuss topics such as totally disconnected groups, geometric group theory, lattices, rigidity, buildings and group actions on trees. The plan is to meet about once a month, usually at the University of Sydney but sometimes at the University of Newcastle or the University of Wollongong. The first meeting will be on Monday 22 November, at Sydney, with talks held in Carslaw 707A.
