MATH 2917 special studies seminar: Vinoth Wandakumar -- The Brouwer degree

Using the analogous results for degree modulo 2, Vinoth will show that the Brouwer
degree of a map at a regular value is independent of the choice of regular value and is
a homotopy invariant.  As an application, he will show that S^n admits a smooth field of
nonzero tangent vectors if and only if n is odd.
