Hello all, The next MaPSS talk of this semester will be at 17:00 on Monday 27th in Carslaw 351. Note the venue change! It’ll also be a slightly different format than usual; I’ll be talking about some tools that I think everyone will find useful for their research. Plus as always it’s a great opportunity to meet fellow postgrads and of course get some free pizza! ************************************************************************************** Speaker: Eric Hester Title: Life Hacks for Your Research Abstract: Ever get sick of changing from your shiny laptop to a school computer for printing, or tuteroll? Hoping for an easier way to download papers and sort out your bibliography? Baffled by BibTex vs Biblatex for your arXiv submission? Well, this is the talk for you! I’m going to show you some of the time saving tools I’ve amassed over my PhD, (especially Zotero) so you don’t have to spend years figuring it out like I did. This is going to be a very interactive demonstration, so please bring your laptops and we’ll get these tools installed! ************************************************************************************** See you there! Details can also be found on the school’s Postgraduate Society website: http://www.maths.usyd.edu.au/u/MaPS/mapss.2019.html Cheers, Eric
