February 2021 Symposium with Martin Hairer Location: Online Date: 3 Feb - 19 Feb 2021 Explore the mathematics of Fields Medallist Martin Hairer in the February 2021 online symposium, jointly supported by SMRI and MATRIX. The three-week symposium will take place over 3 Feb - 19 Feb 2021. It will feature talks by Professor Hairer on his work in stochastic analysis and lecture discussions, including an accessible colloquium. The schedule for the symposium has now been published on the symposium webpage https://sites.google.com/monash.edu/symposium-with-martin-hairer/home Professor Hairer’s Colloquium, titled ’Taming infinities’, will take place on Wednesday 3 February at 20:00 AEDT. Professor Hairer will delve into the conceptual and mathematical aspects of "renormalisation" techniques and how they have recently been used in probability theory to study equations, the meaning of which were hitherto unknown. The program also includes talks by Australian mathematicians, mini-courses facilitated by Professor Hairer and discussion meetings. The schedule will be updated over the coming weeks.
