Dear Colleagues, We wish to announce the upcoming workshop ************************************************ Computational & Algorithmic Topology, Sydney (CATS 2021) The University of Sydney, 19-23 July 2021 https://sites.google.com/view/cats-2020 ************************************************ Abstract: This workshop at The University of Sydney will bring together experts and emerging researchers from Australia, the USA and Europe to report on recent results and explore future directions in computational and algorithmic topology and related areas. There will be a focus on problems in discrete geometry and computational topology. This workshop aims to stimulate interaction between researchers in order to bring about new collaborations on difficult problems that cannot be tackled from one viewpoint alone. We plan to run this workshop in a hybrid format that includes pre-recorded and remote talks, followed up by working/discussion sessions with subsequent Q&A sessions related to the recorded or streamed talks. This will somewhat compensate for the knowledge transfer that usually occurs at workshops through informal discussions. There will also be unstructured collaboration time. Invited Speakers: Pre-recoded or live talks accompanied by working groups and live Q&A sessions: - Herbert Edelsbrunner (Institute of Science and Technology Austria) - Feng Luo (Rutgers University) - Elisabetta Matsumoto (Georgia Institute of Technology) - Boris Springborn (Technische Universität Berlin) Live talks in Sydney (and streamed via the ACE network): - Benjamin A. Burton (The University of Queensland) - Joan Licata (Australian National University) - Jessica Purcell (Monash University) - Vanessa Robins (Australian National University) Organizers: - Jonathan Spreer (The University of Sydney) - Stephan Tillmann (The University of Sydney) - Katharine Turner (Australian National University) Registration: For catering purposes, please register at https://sites.google.com/view/cats-2020/register
