There will be a total network outage in Carslaw on Saturday 9 Nov 2024.
In particular, Maths will be disconnected from the "world",
with our www.maths website inaccessible.

Upgrade of network hardware - 9 November

Carslaw Building (F07)

Dear Colleagues,

As part of the ongoing focus on continuous improvement, an upgrade of the network hardware in the Carslaw Building (F07) is scheduled for Saturday 9 November 2024, between 7am and 7pm.
Impacts of change (Change No. yet to be assigned)
Both wired or wireless network services will be unavailable during this change period, including internet, intranet, VoIP phones, wireless services, printers, BMS, Fire System, CCTV, and COS managed services.
Important information
  • 'Network outage’ means that all ethernet network and internet services will be unavailable during the timeframe.
  • There will be no connectivity for any wired equipment in the above rooms that rely on the network or internet, including computers, printers, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Services such as air conditioning, power and water will not be disrupted.
  • Work will be undertaken only in the communications rooms within the building (not in office spaces) and will not result in disruptive noise.
Action for you
  • Save any work that is reliant on network connections, before the work commences.
  • Forward this email to any colleagues who need to be aware of this upcoming outage.
