Wednesday 23 September 2015 from 11:00–12:00 in Carslaw 535A
Lunch this week will be combined with the Applied Maths Seminar. We will meet at 12:30 by the lifts on Carslaw level 6 to walk to the Grandstand together.
Abstract: This talk will focus on the geometry of the space of Lagrangian planes \(\Lambda(n)\). Colloquially, this is the set of real \(n\) dimensional planes in complex \(n\) space. I will attempt to describe the space in a number of different, equivalent ways. The main focus will be on understanding the geometry of \(\Lambda(2)\), but I will occasionally extrapolate to more general dimensions when it is possible.
