Venue: Carslaw AGR (829) Time: 11:30AM--12:30PM, 29/10/2019 Lecturer: Kyle Broder (ANU-BICMR) Title: Canonical Metrics in Kahler Geometry Abstract: Given a Riemannian manifold (M, g) it is natural to ask whether such a manifold can be equipped a "canonical metric". For Riemann surfaces, we have the celebrated uniformisation theorem and we explore whether analogous statements can be made in higher dimensions. This will lead naturally to the subject of Kahler-Einstein metrics and their associated complex Monge-Ampere equations.
