Theta functions - conformal mapping through combinatorial
number theory
Friday 2nd April, 12:05-12:55pm,
Carslaw 373.
In this talk I shall show the diversity of the theta functions
by discussing some problems which can be solved using them.
The problems range from classical problems in conformal mapping
through problems in number theory such as partitions and
representations of positive integers as sums of squares and
triangular numbers. No previous knowledge will be assumed.
